There is no substitute for action when it comes to community development, whether it is building a playground or rallying neighbors to create safer streets. But it can be just as important to tell the story of the action, so that others are aware of the work and the progress being made. The class was for community development practitioners involved with the New Communities Program.

That's why nine community development practitioners spent six Friday afternoons this fall in a conference room crowded with laptop computers, cables and digital recorders, learning how to create audio slideshows.
